Pay-As-You-Go phones, also known as Prepaid Cell Phones and Go-Phones, are mobile phones where service is bought in advance of use. The device can be used until the consumer runs out of credit. Instead of monthly plans that may or may not be beneficial, people can pay for only as much as they want.

Advantages of prepaid phones are numerous. Plans and minutes are known to cost much less than monthly billing policies. Users do not have to worry about making a strict payment every few weeks because, if they don’t have any money, they won’t be able to use the phone, versus building up debt. Prepaid phones don’t have early termination fees, plans and can be used by people under the age of 18. The device is popular among students, travelers and businesses.

There are some disadvantages to Pay-As-You-Go phones, though. For people who call and text often, the rates may be higher than sticking with a monthly unlimited plan. International and premium rate numbers cannot be dialed with these phones.

There have been some issues with security. Worldwide police and security agencies are concerned that users will commit criminal and terrorist activities. Prepaid phones sometimes allow the user to remain anonymous, therefore making it easier to create havoc. In an effort to lessen the likelihood of problems occurring, officials are suggesting that users need to register their prepaid mobile phones. However, many consumers are fighting the suggestion because they originally purchased the phone with anonymity intended. This is not necessarily because they are going to create the next biggest scandal, but because they want their privacy to remain intact. As of 2005, countries such as Australia, Germany, France, Japan, Hungary, Slovak Republic, Norway, Switzerland and South Africa have all required their Pay-As-You-Go users to register the phone.

There are many Prepaid cell phone providers in the United States. Companies include: Boost Mobile (Sprint), GoPhone (AT&T), Virgin Mobile USA, Cricket, Lucky Wireless (Verizon), TracFone, Pay and Talk (Telus Mobility), Pre-Paid Wireless (US Cellular) and Jump Mobile (Leap Wireless).

Each company has its own payment options and amounts. Some companies are strictly offering minute cards while others provide the option for monthly plans, as well. Europe and the Middle East have numerous Pay-As-You-Go mobile phone businesses, too.

Prepaid mobile phones come in a variety of styles and, more often than not, may be mistaken as one of the main stream models. Pay-As-You-Go devices can come with simple features to simply call a person or they can be equipped with the latest texting keyboard.

Or you can get the Motorola Droid R2D2 Price

Popularly known as virtual hosting service or as derive host, a shared web hosting service is where many websites are all on one web server that is connected to the internet. Every site has its own partition, a place/section on the server, in order to keep it separate from others. Shared web hosting is considered an economically efficient option for hosting because several sites can share the cost of server maintenance.

Considering it is used by many different sites, the server requires system administration. For users who do not wish to bother with it, other people can maintain the server. Users who want to have more control may not find this option appropriate, however.

Shared hosting can be implemented in two ways: IP-based and name-based. IP-based virtual hosting, also known as dedicated IP hosting, offers each host their own personal IP address. There are many physical network interfaces on the same physical interface. Client IP addresses are used to figure out what website to display. The main advantage of IP-based virtual hosting is so clients can have their own SSL certificate, compared to a shared certificate. Name-based virtual hosting provides virtual hosts with several hostnames on one machine with one IP address. When web browsers want a resource from the web server via HTTP/1.1, it includes the hostname as part of the request. From this, the server processes the information and determines what website to show the user.

Shared web hosting has a web-based control panel system. cPanel, Plesk, Ensim, DirectAdmin, H-Sphere and InterWorx are a few examples of web-based control panel systems. Most large hosting companies use custom made control panels. However, many lawsuits have occurred from people try to recreate the functionality of well-known control panels.

Shared web hosting services have disadvantages, as well. These systems, for one, do not properly support secure websites (HTTPS). All name-based virtual hosts must share the same digital certificate. Second, if a Domain Name System is not functioning properly, it may be more difficult for people to use name-based virtually-hosted websites. Normally, a user could rely on their IP address to contact the system, but the web browser does not know what hostname to send to the server.

Shared web hosting services will not work with browsers that do not send hostnames as part of requests. However, since pretty much all web-browsers currently use HTTP/1.1 protocol and also virtual hosting, this should not be too much of a problem.

The term ‘Avatar’ can signify a number of things, but the most common and the most popular of them is the computer avatars which we use in our day to day life. It can simply be called as a representation of a user in a computer or a network. Avatars can either be three dimensionally simulated models and a simple two dimensional picture which one can use in his profile. Overall, it can be called as an object or an abstract representation of the user.

It would be funny to trace back the origin of this term and its usage with respect to the virtual world. Avatar means incarnation and is basically a Sanskrit word. It is used to represent a person in the virtual world but the origin was not from the internet. Avatars were first used in computer games since 1985 as a representation of the user playing the game.

The first usage of avatars started in internet forums where people rarely use their name nowadays. Though avatars are widely used now, its first usage has not yet been traced till now. The main reason behind this is that the initial internet forums did not support this feature and it was only those geeks and technical savvies that brought the usage of avatars into internet forums. In fact these went a long way to hack their profile in order to do these changes.

In the beginning these avatars were simply texts or images but right now there are different forms of avatars for a person to choose from. Animated avatars were the next to come and they had a few images in a sequence which played in a loop. As more and more people started using these, a number of creative ideas were put into creating them. Right now a person can go on and cartoon himself or make a 3D animated avatar of him. Technology is constantly on its heels.

These avatars are also used in Internet chat and instant messaging programs. It was Cybertown which brought in the technology of three dimensional avatars to the internet. As the popularity of these avatars keep growing people not only want them to be better designed but they also want these avatars everywhere. They want it on blog comments too. If you were a popular blogger, you would support this cause talent always deserves an identity and nothing can be better than an avatar.

Before 4G Wireless, there was 2G and 3G. Each refers to a certain generation of wireless capabilities and standards. 4G is a cellular system that has target peak data rates of 100Mbits/s. This allows for high mobility for mobile access. There is 1Gbit/s for low mobility.

This new system is predicted to provide comprehensive and secure all-IP based solutions for operations such as voice, broadband internet access and multimedia. 4G Wireless is being created to accommodate the QoS (Quality of Service) and rate requirements of soon-to-be applications, such as wireless broadband access, MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service), video chat, mobile television, HDTV, DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) and other services like data and voice. The 4G system is expected to run efficiently, have high network capacity (meaning more users per cell), smooth transition across heterogeneous networks, seamless handoffs and global network access, high quality of service, all IP, packet switched network. Overall, 4G should share and utilize network resources to grant minimal requirement of all enabled users.

Components of the new 4G Wireless connection would include: access schemes, which allows for increase in efficiency, capacity and scalability. IPv6 support will be provided. 4G will be packet switching only, instead of two parallel infrastructures of packet switched and circuit network nodes, like the 3G networks. With the new system, advanced antenna systems will arrive. Multiple antenna technologies are booming so that 4G systems can run at high rates with high reliability and long range communications.

Since 4G is considered a conglomerate of wireless standards, the end form will possess various standards. SDR (Software-Defined Radio) technology will help categorize areas of radio convergence.

Recently, there have been companies spouting that their networks have upgraded to 4G Wireless. However, the 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology that was introduced in Spring 2009 is what is commonly being used now. Retailers will advertise their services as providing 4G Wireless networks when they are really using 3GPP. LTE (Long-term-evolution) Advanced was suggested as an IMT-Advanced standard by the 3GPP organization in Fall 2009 and is expected to release in 2011.

Systems that will, most likely, run off of 4G Wireless are: SDR receivers, OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing), OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access), UMTS, MIMO (Multiple Input/Multiple Output) and TD-SCDMA (Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access).

Japanese companies, such as NTT DoCoMo, are currently testing 4G communications at 100 Mbps for mobiles and 1 Gbps while stationary. The company plans to release a commercial in 2010. Other telecommunications appear to be moving faster, however. In 2006, Sprint Nextel made their plans public to develop and deploy 4G mobile broadband networks nationwide using WiMAX in the US. The United Kingdom plans to announce their plans to auction their 4G technologies in Fall 2006.

4G systems can also be referred to using the acronym “MAGIC”. Broken down, this means Mobile multimedia, Anytime/anywhere, Global mobility support, Integrated wireless and Customized personal service.

4G Wireless technologies are supposed to revolutionize the way we use our phones, computers and other wireless devices.

The majority of us know what it’s like to own a LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen. We also know what it’s like when it comes time to clean one of those screens. Yes, it seems like every particle in the air likes to stick to computer screens. At some point, the monitor is going to need to be cleaned and it should be done carefully.

LCD screens are incredibly sensitive and easily damaged. Therefore, it is not recommended to wipe the surface with dry cloth because it could scratch the surface. Also, if the screen is pressed on, the pixels could be burnt, creating an aesthetically unpleasing and permanent mark.

Begin by thinking of your LCD screen as the delicate skin of a baby’s bum. This will help you remember to be gentle. Then, retrieve a soft cloth – handkerchiefs are a good example. Wiping the LCD screen with paper towels, toilet paper or shower towels will scratch the surface and leave permanent damage. To ensure you get all the dust, turn the screen off or to black. This will help show all the particles and help to make the LCD screen cleaner.

Now that you’ve completed the beginning steps to cleaning a monitor, it’s time to learn how to make your own cleaning solution. Making your own product is easier and cheaper compared to store bought brands. For the solution, you will need distilled (or deionized) water (bottled water) and vinegar (or isopropyl alcohol). It is highly recommended to stay away from tap water because the minerals will stick to the screen and leave white streaks.

Using the distilled water, dilute the vinegar or IPA. When diluted enough, spray the solution onto your chosen cloth. Try not to spray the liquid directly on the computer screen, it may cause great damage. With the moistened cloth, gently move it in one direction on the LCD screen. Top to bottom most often works the best. Repeat the process until the dust is removed. If there is extra cleaning solution in the end, you can store it in a place with other cleaning supplies until needed.

If the LCD monitor is attached to a laptop, be sure that it is completely dry before closing the computer. For a desktop monitor, make sure it is dry before turning on the screen.

If making your own LCD screen cleaning solution is not preferred, stores will be more than happy to supply you with a good product. However, stay away from solutions that contain Acetone, methyl alcohol, toluene, ammonia, ethyl acid and ethyl chloride. These chemicals could severely damage the screen and, potentially, make it unusable.

Always remember: the LCD screen of your computer is considered to be the most expensive item of the entire machine. Without the screen, the other components are practically useless because the user is not able to see what processes are working.

Refrain from touching the LCD screen with your fingers. Doing this could leave unappealing finger smudges and burn out pixels.

Taser guns are electroshock weapons that use electricity to disrupt voluntary control of muscles. The manufacturer of the weapon is Taser International and has deemed the effect “neuromuscular incapacitation”. The device mechanism is called “Electro-Muscular Disruption Technology”. When the Taser gun makes contact with the victim, they begin to feel involuntary contractions. In July 2009, Taser International marketed their X3 model that is able to stun three people at once.

Taser guns are considered less-lethal weapons and are popularly used by police to stop criminals from running away. The use of this weapon is very controversial because, in some instances, the tool has been known to cause serious damage and death. The United Nations has been concerned that Tasers will be used for torture. Amnesty International states that Tasers lead to “cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment what is absolutely prohibited under international law”.

The term “Taser” is actually an acronym for Thomas A. Swift’s Electric Rifle (a fictional weapon). The tool was created in 1969 by Jack Cover, a NASA researcher. In 1974, the weapon was finished.

The use of a Taser is simple. The weapon shoots out two electrodes that remain connected to the main device via conductive wire. The electrodes are propelled by tiny compressed nitrogen charges and attach to the victim. One attached, the electrodes are barbed so they are not easily removed. Electricity is streamed through the connecting wire and shock the victim. The wire extends to 35 feet away.

The electrical current makes it so the brain cannot control the muscles anymore. The victim supposedly doesn’t feel any pain. However, once the current creases, the victim will immediately regain control of their body once more.

Tasers have become beneficial for police officers because it provides a safe distance from the escapee. When using Tasers, people have experienced fewer injuries that using batons and empty handed techniques. Pepper spray remains the only other safe option.

If a police officer is able to get close to a target, they can enable to “Drive Stun” capability of the Taser. Instead of firing electrodes, the Taser is pressed against the target. This method is to cause intense pain without incapacitating the person. Doing this is considered a pain compliance technique. The EMD is activated and touched to the target, which directly sends the electrical current into their body.

The Drive Stun option supposedly doesn’t harm the central nervous system but does cause significant pain to the touched area. While it does not incapacitate the target, it does allow police officers to bring the suspect into custody. There are international organizations that worry this option of the Taser gun could be abused and may cause severe damage.

Tasers are not often administered or created for individual use. They are for police officers to obtain escapees and contain their actions. Only in severe situations should the Drive Stun technique be used as it can cause irreparable damage to the victim. Taser International has deemed the weapon safe but many disagree.

The term “ubuntu” is an African term meaning “humanity to others”. Ideal for laptops, desktops and servers, Ubuntu is a community designed computer operating system. This program runs applications, like word processing, e-mail, web server software and programming tools. Ubuntu is free and can be downloaded and shared with friends free of charge. New desktops and servers are released every six months.

Ubuntu was introduced in October 2004. Since then, the system has kept their focus on security and usability. Ubuntu offers programs such as OpenOffice, Firefox, Empathy, GIMP, Transmission and games.

The program can be easily installed with the use of the Live CD. The CD has the Ubiquity Installer, which guides the user through the installation process. The minimum requirement for installation is 256 MB RAM.

Even though Ubuntu is free, people have commented that it works as great or better than expensive computer programs. The system is easy to learn and responds effectively. Probably the best feature of the Ubuntu program is that you do not need a new computer to operate it. The system can be installed on old computers just as well as new ones. If a computer is currently running with Microsoft Windows and is having a hard time, the owner can install Ubuntu and, chances are, it’ll work perfectly.

Consumers have reported that Ubuntu uses one-seventh of the drive as Windows to complete the same task. The style of the desktop is greatly similar to Windows, as well. However, Ubuntu, overall, works faster, cleaner and is cheaper than Windows.

Unbuntu has an amazing reputation for downloading files seconds faster. Large files often take half or one minute to download on Windows while Ubuntu can transfer it to the desktop in a heartbeat.

Remember that it can run well on old and new computers? One user reported that they retrieved their five or six year old Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop, formatted the drive and installed Ubuntu. Eureka! The laptop runs as good as new, or better.

For users who wish to do most everything on their own, Ubuntu’s website offers information for new users to easily install the program on their computer. A CD can be ordered by mail, borrowed from someone else or downloaded, put onto a CD and transferred to any preferred machine. Be careful and read the instruction carefully. The file must not just be burned to the CD; a mirror file needs to be created, too. The process is simple and easy to follow; you just need to follow the steps in the correct order. If you’ve just purchased a new computer, the Ubuntu can be uploaded to that, as well.

Ubuntu appears to be environmentally, economically and family friendly. Old computers that run slowly can be “refurbished” and turned new, thus saving landfills. Families with little money but still need an operational computer can easily obtain Ubuntu and run their business efficiently.

As for virus protection, Ubuntu does offer an anti-virus service but the chances of needed it aren’t big. Most virus creators work at destroying Windows.

First introduced to the United States in 2007, the Amazon Kindle is a computer based portable e-reader. E-books, magazines, newspapers, and other digital media can be purchased and displayed on the Kindle. It is lightweight and compact, making it easy to fit into almost any bag and can store several thousand books. In March 2009, Kindle constructed an App titled Kindle for iPhone. In May 2009, Amazon introduced their new Kindle DX.

The Kindle DX has a larger screen, 9.5 inches and is able to support PDF’s. The new technology also displays newspapers and textbooks easily. Competitors of Kindle are Barnes & Noble nook, Sony Reader, iRex iLiad, Jinke Hanlin e-reader and Cybook.

Users of the Kindle DX are able to download texts from Amazon or load content in different forms on the computer. Text can be downloaded from the website or on the Kindle itself. As of July 2009, Amazon has offered 300,000 books for downloading.

Kindle is able to display newspapers, magazines and blogs for a free trial or monthly fee. Subscriptions for newspapers begin at $5.99 and go to $14.99 per month. $1.25 or $3.49 per month for magazines and $0.99 to $1.99 monthly for blogs. Along with purchasing the Kindle DX, you’ll receive the owner’s manual and the complete New Oxford American Dictionary.

For people who have poor vision and need the text enlarged, Kindle DX offers different text sizes. Using the buttons on the side, the user can easily adjust the text to their liking. Also, since the Kindle does not have a backlight, the reader will be able to read the page as if looking at a real printed book. Amazon’s E Ink creates the look of a real book so readers feel more comfortable.

Most of the recent bestsellers are offered for much lower prices than in bookstores. Some purchasers considered the Kindle prices to be 50-60% cheaper than going to the store. Kindles are versatile in the fact that they weigh less than real books and they can be transported to any destination.

The Kindle DX device operates using the same signals as cell phones, so there is no need to buy a wireless internet contract. If you happen to obtain more e-books than can fit on the Kindle, Amazon will hold your purchases online so you can circulate your content. Content may also be transferred with the use of USB devices.

Kindle offers a voice feature, as well. If you’re a person who walks often and doesn’t have time to sit and read, you can enable a feature in which the Kindle will read the story out loud. Amazon is currently working on MP3 features so readers are able to listen to music while enjoying their favorite novel/newspaper/blog/magazine.

Kindles cost between $350 and $400. However, their books and other media cost less than in-store purchases and will benefit the user for a long time. Newspapers are automatically updated daily so worker-bees can read their news updates on the way to work. Kindles work effective in both personal and professional environments.

Fans of Call of Duty 4 will recognize Modern Warfare 2 as an extension of the storyline. Five years have passed, but peace has not prevailed. United States Army Rangers are trying to stop a Russian invasion of the states, while Task Force 141 (an international anti-terrorist unit) is involved with the elimination of Vladimir Makarov, a Russian terrorist who has framed America for an attack on civilians in Moscow.

Also known as Call of Duty 6 or just simply Modern Warfare 2, the game sold more than four and a half million copies during its first 24 hours, making it the best selling game of all time. It is available for Xbox 360, Play Station 3, or Windows (if you have 16 gig of hard drive space and at least 512 Meg of RAM). Play can be single-player, online multi-player, or two-player co-operative mode online or via LAN for special ops missions.

Action takes place in various settings, including Siberia and Washington D.C., and opens in Afghanistan, where PFC Joseph Allen comes to the attention of Lt. General Shepherd, commander of Task Force 141. He recruits Allen into the elite unit, who is the first of five characters used as the point of view for single action players with the predominant one being Sgt. Roach Sanderson. Several non-playable characters from Call of Duty 4 are reprised, including Capt. Price and Nikolai, the Russian undercover operative.

Console play is much the same as the first version of Modern Warfare. Missions are assigned that are comprised of various objectives. These can be as (relatively) simple as reaching a certain checkpoint or blowing up a particular site. The player has troops to assist in the mission, but they are not under his control.

Online play, however, offers many new features. Host migration allows a new host to be selected rather than forcing the end of the current game if the host leaves. New weapons are also included, as are new “kill-streak” perks such as calling in a Predator missile attack or ordering a supply drop.

There are 23 special ops missions, which are unlocked progressively as players earn stars for completing missions. Most of them are for single player mode, but some can be played by 2, usually with one player operating in a support mode, such as providing air support from a helicopter.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is rated for mature audiences only, and features realistic graphics. Many watchdog groups worldwide have voiced objections to the game, not only for the violence it contains but also due to the operation where PFC Allen, who has gone undercover and infiltrated Makarov’s group, accompanies the terrorists during the murder of civilians at an airport terminal. However, his cover has been blown, and he is killed by Makarov, exposed as an American, and blamed for the attack, which causes Russia to retaliate. It should be noted, however, that Allen (that is, the player) cannot shoot the civilians but is strictly “along for the ride”. It is also possible to skip this module completely.

For decades, AT&T has been known as a worldwide leader in telephone service. With the introduction of the Internet and advanced technology that is available today, AT&T and its competitors have gained remarkable grounds in not only telephone service but in the field of fiber optics as well. Today, there is a great demand from consumers for increased services from their providers which include not only telephone service, but Internet and television service as well. Wary and selective consumers are searching for a provider that can offer a combination of services including, telephone, Internet and television in an all inclusive package at affordable rates. With stringent competition, service providers are continually updating their equipment and conducting additional research to keep up with the demand from their present consumers, while actively engaging in marketing campaigns that will draw the attention of many new consumers.

Recently, AT&T announced a new program, U-Verse, to keep up with the demand for increased technology from their consumers. U-Verse, abbreviation for Universe, is designed to combine and add new features into AT&T’s already impressive selection of services. With U-Verse TV service, referred to as U-watch, television transmissions are delivered to your home 100% digitally, the latest in television reception. U-watch, also allows the consumer additional features such as checking e-mails on the television as well as receiving the latest sport scores, regardless of the sport. U-watch also permits picture-in-picture, the simultaneous watching of two of your favorite programs on the same screen as well as pre-programming the television to record up to 4 of your favorite television or sports broadcast all with the ease of a remote control unit. U-watch has four options available starting with the basic, Max Plus, Elite and Pro packages. Each package offers more features than the previous package and a subsequent increase in monthly costs.

Technology changes daily at a rapid pace. Computers for example are obsolete before they even leave the manufacturer. Before we begin to appreciate the advances that have been made with the latest in advanced technology, the technology has already changed, intriguing us even more than before. There is no way of knowing how far this technology will take us ,or if there is an end to the development and implementation of programs that as of yet have not been seen or considered. Generations yet to come will experience the revelations of tomorrows’ discovery and inherit the knowledge and curiosity of their forefathers to advance even their technology beyond comprehension.

Brilliant program developers and software engineers from AT&T and other leading companies will lead the way to the future. With the knowledge that they possess and the ability to see above and beyond the technology that the world demands and craves, they will continue to create and develop new and innovative programs such as U-Verse. Technology neither stops nor waits for no man. To remain one of the leaders in the discovery and development of such programs will require leaders of not only this generation but a generation that is yet to be born.

One of the newest kids on the block in the world of televisions, LED TV, has managed to kick up quite a storm in the domain of consumer electronics thanks to all the controversies surrounding the very term, LED TV. Critics argue that this term is somewhat misleading since these televisions are nothing but LCD TVs that use LEDs for the purpose of backlighting instead of CCFLs. They should hence be called LED – lit – LCD TVs. But before we get into the technicalities of this new technology, here’s a lowdown on the existing choices available to a consumer and what makes LED TVs different from others.

CRT TV, or Cathode Ray Tube Television, the old horse in the world of television viewing, uses an electron beam to project the image on a screen coated with a fluorescent material. Although still ahead of the competition in terms of picture quality and contrast ratio, these TVs are on their way out thanks to their large size and higher power consumption. LCDs, or Liquid Crystal Displays, consist of a large number of polymers which form a thin layer. A light source, usually CCFLs (or Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps), which is mounted behind this layer, is used to provide uniform white light which is selectively filtered by the polymer layer to create an image pattern on the screen. LCD screens are a lot slimmer than their CRT counterparts, are light weight, provide a perfectly flat screen and use considerably less power. They are however plagued by such problems as narrow viewing angle, relatively poorer contrast ratio and higher price. Plasma screens have also become very popular these days, more notably in the larger screen size category. These displays use a mixture of noble gases, held between two glass panels. On supplying an electric voltage, these gas cells turn into plasma which emits ultraviolet radiation. A phosphor layer coated at the back of each cell is excited by this radiation and thus emits visible light. Plasma screens have an advantage over LCDs by having a far superior contrast ratio and also a wider viewing angle. However, they are heavier, have higher power consumption and do not come in smaller sizes. Various other technologies like OLEDs (Organic Light Emitting Diodes), FEDs (Field Emission Displays) and SEDs (Surface conduction Electron – emitter Display) are trying to gain a foothold in the large screen market but they are still in their nascent stage which brings us to LED TVs.

As I said earlier, these are basically LCD TVs. The basic difference between the two is that an LED TV uses an LED, or a Light Emitting Diode for the purpose of backlighting. In case of LCDs, it is CCFL, or Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps. Because of the difference in the backlighting, these TVs overcome many of the drawbacks suffered by conventional LCDs. They have a much better contrast ratio, are slimmer, use about 40% less power and are less damaging to the environment. However, problems with the viewing angle still persist and they are also considerably heavier on the pocket, as can be expected from any new technology. From a consumer’s point of view, LED TVs are the way to move forward, but only if one can afford the hefty price tag.

It is a rare person who does not enjoy music. Each of us has their own preferences and tastes, but more than likely, we enjoy one type of music or another. We listen to different types of music for different reasons. We will listen to one genre for romantic dinners, and another while we exercise. The advancements of technology have allowed us to not feel the need to purchase an entire album in order to own the one song that we appreciate on that album. Let’s face it, there is rarely an album released by an artist on which all of the songs are good. Today, we are able to download music from the internet and by doing so we can get just the songs that we like.

There are many different ways to download music online. One of the most common methods for downloading music is using the iTunes Music Store. iTunes is the software which accompanies the iPod. These are highly popular music players which are able to store high volumes of digital music, video, and pictures. The iTunes store sells songs for 99 cents a piece. If you prefer, you can also buy and download an entire album. More so, the store allows you to purchase and download television shows, movies and more. iPods are extremely popular, but you do not have to own an iPod to use iTunes or to make purchases from their store. iTunes has also partnered with Starbucks to offer a free music download each week.

Another popular was of downloading music is Amazon.com. Amazon.com also charges 99 cents per song, and has albums selling for download as low as five dollars per album. Downloading digital media is becoming more common and with iPods, Zunes and other music players which can hold upward of 4,000 songs, it may soon pass sales of physical albums if it hasn’t already. You are saving a lot of space if you put all your music on a player instead of keeping hundreds of CDs on your shelves.

There are also other ways to download music. There are many websites which offer you this opportunity. You need to be careful when using these sites, and should research the legality of what they are offering you. Some of these websites have been shut down, and more keep springing up. Individuals have also been stuck with large fines for downloading music which they did not buy, because of copyright infringement. If you are downloading music for free, be aware that there could be significant consequences for your actions. Would you rather be stuck with a bill of $10,000 or more, or would you prefer to be paying under $1 for each song that you want to have in your collection? One more thing to think about if you are downloading free music is whether the artist will continue to make music if they are not getting paid what they should be getting paid for their efforts.
